Yep. It's true. Murphy Brown and The Nanny had a couple crossovers. The first one was a quick little crossover. The Nanny ended one of its seasons with a cliffhanger that found The Nanny's Fran Fine and Maxwell Sheffield possibly plummeting to their deaths in a fiery plane crash. Turns out what they thought were the engines conking out was just Fran Drescher laughing. Sorry that last part is cruel and untrue. But the plane crash part is no lie.

    The first episode of The Nanny's next season began with a news report on the incident. It just so happens that the news report was on FYI and was hosted by Jim Dial, FYI being the fictional news show Murphy Brown centered around and Jim Dial being one of its regular characters. That's it. No big whup. Fran and Mr. Sheffield lived and the show went on. Sorry.
